The In The Swim CRC Pro-Series Chlorinated Rubber-Base Pool Paint is a self-priming paint specifically designed for re-coating existing rubber-base finishes. This product offers excellent chemical resistance and color retention, allowing for an average lifespan of 3 years.

When applying this paint, it is suggested to use a 9" roller equipped with a 3/8" nap. The average coverage is 250 square feet per gallon. For initial applications, two coats are recommended.

To prepare your pool for painting, follow these steps:

  1. Determine the area size: Measure the length and width of the pool to calculate the square footage. This will help you determine the amount of paint required.

  2. Drain the water: Ensure the outside ambient air temperature is below 85°F, then use a submersible pump to drain the pool water. Avoid draining at higher temperatures, as the interior surface may crack.

  3. Prepare the surface: Remove any perimeter return jets, pool/spa lights, main drain covers, and aerator fittings. Carefully tape off the tile line, step/bench tiles, return lines, and skimmer mouth.

  4. Apply the primer (if required): If the paint requires a primer, roll it onto the interior surface of the pool using a 9" roller with a 1/2" nap, starting with the walls and ending with the floor. Allow the primer to cure for 24-48 hours.

  5. Paint the interior: Begin painting the walls first, followed by the floor. Ensure you follow the recommended time between coats to allow the paint to cure and harden, improving its chemical resistance and lifespan.

  6. Fill and balance the pool: Once the paint has cured, fill the pool with water and test the water balance, adjusting as necessary. Maintain proper water balance and pool health by testing the water weekly.
